Where we grow them....

Although we sell larger (C3+) carp to UK fisheries we have ponds that vary from 100sqm upto in excess of 16,000sqm to allow us to select only the best strains and individual fish for you the customer. The fish farm now has 33 individual ponds meaning we can make more of our fish available to our customers in years to come.

VS Fisheries is expanding.....

Time_to__fill.jpg

Over the past 12 months the surge in demand for our fish has meant expanding the fish farm to allow us to produce more fish of all sizes. In 2008 some further 17 acres of new production ponds have been developed. Major work has gone into the project by the Chandlers and they have done a magnificent job as you will see!

Behind the scenes.....

harvest_backs_of_carp.jpg

From liming ponds at the start of the year, through feeding countless tonnes of food, to the start of another exciting harvest season the list of work is endless and year round. But adding it all together produces fish that we, and many of the carp fisheries in the country, feel are amongst the best available.

Hand selecting = VS Fisheries Quality

GRADING2.jpg

Every single one of our fish that leaves our farm is carefully hand selected by Viv or Simon to their demanding standards. This grading process begins when the fish are only 6 months old and occurs annually until the fish leave the farm at 2.5 (C3) to 5.5 years old (C6) meaning the fish you recieve are the best available. Taking this level of care takes time but we feel it is worth it!

The early stages....

FRY.jpg

The continual strive to produce the best carp for our customers means that we have to have full control over the whole production process. Second best is just not good enough at VS Fisheries! Over the past few years we have produced some very exciting carp, by crossing very well known strains with proven records, that are destined to be the big carp of the future.
